Marilyn's Place For Kids
We are excited and proud to announce that we are currently creating
Marilyn's Place for Kids lounges at Beth Israel Hospital's main facility on First Avenue and 16th Street and at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital's Developmental Disabilities Center on Tenth Avenue and 58th Street.
Marilyn's Place for Kids will be located on the Pediatrics floor of both hospitals and will be places where children who are battling disease and illness (including epilepsy and other neurological problems, tuberculosis, influenza, encephalitis, asthma, renal failure and pneumonia) can go to escape their challenges, play with other kids and have some fun.
Marilyn's Place for Kids will feature laptop computers, SONY Play Stations, Nintendo Wii games, televisions with DVD/VCR's, games, books, CD players, crib toys/mobiles, musical instruments for music therapy sessions, train table with tracks and train cars, bean bags and sofas, puzzle and Tic Tac Toe wall panels, art supplies and other activities and materials recommended by doctors and other hospital officials.
We are also providing a special stretcher to help transport children to and from their treatments and enough equipment and materials so that children who are confined to their rooms can enjoy the same amenities and creative outlets.
We will also organize birthday parties and other holiday celebrations for the children throughout the year.
We look forward to opening Marilyn's Place for Kids in the near future. If you would like to support our efforts,
